About Us

Lawrence and Liling were born in
Malaysia and migrated to Australia with their families. They
met in the West Sydney Chinese Christian Church, Strathfield.
Lawrence is a family doctor and Liling is a trained dietitian.
After a short-term mission trip to Niger with SIM, they both
became convinced that there is much need for the gospel as
well as health care in other countries, and that God wanted
them to be prepared to go wherever He may send them. They
returned to Australia, studied at the Sydney Missionary and
Bible College, then joined SIM as long-term missionaries.
They have been ministering in Bolivia since 1995, predominantly
by providing health care, training Bolivian health workers
and through church leadership development. Alex was 6 months
old when they arrived, and Maddie and Anneka were both born
in Bolivia.
